Christmas stars (gwiazdki) are a traditional Polish Christmas ornament made out of long ribbons of paper folded into an eight-pointed star shape. Gwiazdki are a common addition to any Polish Christmas tree.
Traditional gwiazdki are white, but we offer any of the colors and patterns on this page.
Stars are about two inches wide and come in sachets of 12. You can give them as gifts, use them to decorate presents (nicer than a bow!), put them on your Christmas tree, or hang them in a corner where your house is looking underdecorated.
Each star is handmade by my mother, a 100% genuine Polish woman in Maine who has sat through dozens of audio books the past few months folding these stars in preparation for the holidays. If you like, you can order them pre-threaded with loops of string at no extra charge.
