La Treille Muscate
Pencil on Paper, 17" x 11"

This is something like the main square in Moustiers-Ste-Marie. Next to the old plane tree is a restaurant called La Treille Muscate (the Muscat Trellis) which I drew and painted many times in the misguided hope of getting an invitation to a free meal. The meal was never offered, but I did get a nice series of pictures. In between the tree and the restaurant is the vantage point I used to paint a rain scene from the other side of this same square.
